This is the second book in Kagawa's series and I was a little skeptical because I was unsure the route she was really going for, but I actually really liked it. I like the lore she mixes in. I like that having a bit of knowledge, though not critically important, does help you to appreciate the research that went into her book. It's like wonderland meets a midsummer night's dream all centered around a dark tim burton take on the teenage life. Over all, I liked it.

This book is a mix of magic and darkness, it starts off with a young girl attending high school. She has the perfect family of a loving stepfather, mother and younger brother. She is happy though she isn't popular in the least, she has a best friend (Robbie) and her whole life ahead of her. Enter crazed fairy adventure in which she must save her brother who has been kidnapped by the "Iron King" find out she is the daughter of the king of the Summer Fairies and learn that her best friend is the one and only Robin Goodfellow; all in one day. Too soon Meghan learns that thier are worse things than being rejected by your crush and having a bad hair day.

I really liked this book, it was a quick read and wasn't ever boring. Overall I'd recommend it.

Clary is yet again faced with the fact that she can't be with the guy of her dreams, first he was a playboy (book 1), then he was distant (book 1 and 2), then she thought he was her brother (book 2) and now he is having visions that he will kill her...unfortunalty his vision are never wrong....bummer. On top of that her best friend is juggling two of the most powerful being as his girlfriends...they just don't know about the other. Messed up love lives aside they are all about to fight one of the greatest evils known to man. Well where there's a will, there's a way and maybe a prayer.

This book was great, at times it seemed alittle teen angest-y but get past the drama and the plot is amazing. I would recommend this book to fans of the series.

The extreme cases of foreign terrorism in the form of foreign exchange students shows just how easily swayed the youth of the US are and maybe, just maybe we should fight terror with the only weapon it has no defense against...exceptance.

I loved this book, it was racist, filled to the brim with stereotypes, and obscene language and yet it captures the true heart of haters and the hated.

The story details Helen's life, from her childhood with a controlling mother to her run from the law after she smothers her mother to death. Helen appears eerily sane and calculated as she sets up a series of escape routes that burn ever bridge she ever made.

I loved this book, it was both unsettling and linked to reality that it made for a captivating tale.

Choke was amazingly horrifying, to think that people can become so absorbed in addiction that thier reality and existance can be centered around one word is scary. When that one word is sex it becomes a series of strangers and bodies till you can't even remember your own name. That is what Victor experiences, sex to him is a way of escaping his crazed mother, faild medical past and obsession with love and death. However when he finally hits the realization that his life is nothing but unfufilled promises he spirals down a self destructive tirade to prove he is the one in control.

Insanely complex life of Buster "Rant" Casey, the man who infected the world with rabies, his life and death all flowed the same way; poison, death and glory. This book is beautifully written because it's both crude and cruel, truely reflective of an individual's most intimate thoughts. Nothing is pretty about self discovery and destruction and that is what makes this book so striking. I thought it was brilliant in it's own respect and would recommend it to anyone who likes Palahniuk's work.

Snakecharm by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

Snakecharm is the second book Amelia Atwater-Rhodes series. I have to admit I liked this book less. This book is more like a wrap up for the first so in my opinion that plot wasn't as complete.

Hawksong by Amelia Atwaters-Rhodes

Hawksong is amazing. It's a book about a world where everyone is connected to animals in a way that's linked to thier very soul. And in this world the Hawks and Snakes are at war and only the forced union of the hwk princess and snake prince can restore a somewhat hostile peace. However aside from thier resentment of each other there are other forced whom are willing to kill to preserve war.

I loved this book, its easy to become addicted to this supernatural world that has the undercurrents of modern politics and the world around me.

Valiant: A Modern Tale of Faeries by Holly Black

Valiant is actually a great modern story about all the reasons why faeries where revered creatures. This book shows the dark nature of what some people only relate to disney's tinkerbell. Black has a wonderful writing style that is very current and easy to read in my opinion. I loved this book. :D
